Steering Group
The Steering Group provides strategic direction and coordination for SUN. It oversees the network’s activities, sets priorities, supports collaboration across the working groups, and ensures that SUN’s initiatives align with the needs of the UK space sector and the wider education community.
Our Working Groups
Industry Group
The Industry Group aims to strengthen links between space education and space industry. The group looks at skills gaps, how to improve links to industry, maintain an industry-focussed curriculum and career opportunities for students, helping to ensure that educational activities remain relevant and responsive to the sector.
Resources Group
The Resources Group develops, curates, and shares educational resources that support space teaching and learning. The group works to create accessible, high-quality materials for educators and learners, helping to increase engagement with space-related subjects and careers.
Curriculum Group
The Curriculum Group focuses on the development and enhancement of space-related education and training. It supports the sharing of best practice, identifies opportunities for curriculum innovation, and promotes the integration of space themes, knowledge, and skills into educational programmes across institutions.

STAR (Space Tertiary Applied Routes)
STAR is focused on Further and Higher Education colleges and other tertiary education providers. It supports the development of applied and vocational pathways into the UK space sector, working with educators, employers, and training providers to enhance opportunities for learners pursuing technical and career-focused routes. STAR complements SUN’s Higher Education activities by ensuring that the full spectrum of post-16 education is represented within the UK’s space skills ecosystem.
